RF design, RFIC and module design
RF design and rf ic design is somewhat of a black art within the rf circuit design arena. A rf ic is really a type of asic chip that operates at high frequencies to yield rf devices. These device designs are also part of the larger family of analog circuit design. This is also a subset of integrated circuit design or IC design. RF design can be categorized as discrete rf design and integrated rf design. Discrete rf design is usually done using the printed circuit board as the foundational substrate with surface mount passive devices and rf ic active components. RF design, the integrated rf design, is also part of the genre of asic chip design. RF IC design is usually based on the principles of analog circuit design or IC design. Analog integrated circuit design techniques are used as the overall umbrella techniques to implement the RF IC asic chip. At Signal Processing Group Inc. we have been doing rf design, rf ic design , ic design, integrated circuit design and rf circuit design for over a quarter of a century. We are equipped with all the tools needed to do these tasks efficiently and very cost - effectively. These tools are basically computer aided design tools needed to do rf design, rf ic design, ic design, integrated circuit design, rf circuit design, including simulation, both system level and circuit level. We also have tools to do the layout, layout verification, test and fabrication, packaging of rf circuit design tasks, rf ic design tasks, ic design tasks, analog circuit design tasks, integrated circuit design tasks, assembly tasks and test tasks. Please contact us if you would like us to help you with RF design, RF ICs or related items. There is no cost for chatting, consultation or estimating/quotations etc. If you want to sign an NDA, that too is fine and done very quickly by us.Please read the information under "Business issues" which provides a detailed look at how we interact with you.
Module design and analog and RF/wireless modules
Both RF/wireless and analog modules are tremendously effective ways to implement complex microsystem type products quickly. These modules are items that do not easily fit into the category of integrated circuit design, analog integrated circuit design, IC design or RFIC design. The reasons for this may be manifold. Perhaps the circuitry mix is such that a single semiconductor technology cannot be used to implement the whole design. For instance there may be low voltage elements mixed with high voltage, high power items in the circuit. Or there may large value capacitors or inductors that cannot easily be integrated on chip. This is the case when analog and RF/wireless modules need to be used. Another reason to use modules is for the sake of fast market entry. It may be that the entire circuit being implemented as a module can be integrated but it may take longer to do that. The market window may be short, and a product has to be introduced to the market for purposes of testing the market, capturing the market etc. A module is ideal for this type of circumstance. A module is also relatively lower cost. Thus it makes sense to use a module to test the market or enter it quickly, and if it looks like there is going to be a large volume need, then integrate it to further save cost, increase relaibility, protect R&D IP, enhance manufacturability etc. Typically modules use either a PCB substrate, alumina substrate ( for the really high frequencies) or related substrates. Many modules can be made so small and packaged in IC- like packages that one need go no further. Please contact us if you would like to investigate modules for your product. Again there is no cost to chatting or consulting or estimating and quotations. This is entirely risk free.
Applications software and other APPS
We provide software applications programs in five different categories: (1) High level application programs in C/C++ Windows, OSX and Linux. The second level is code for design support such as MATLAB. (3) Smart phone APPS for various applications.(4) Code for interfacing boards and devices to interfaces such as USB, SPI etc. Additionally we can provide web type coding such as HTML, javascript and php. These latter applications are mostly used in providing a user friendly or database environment for users of products that are linked to certain WiFi or wireless products such as networks. Today there is mingling of hardware and software in most products as users demand more flexibility, customers demand more IP protection and we find that more and more, a combination of software and hardware, albeit more complex initially, can save time in the long run. We also use software APPS in testing of a certain number of products..
