A rectangular patch antenna using PCB and microstrip technology is a very useful component to develop if a simple, small footprint, easy to use antenna is desired. As the name implies it is a rectangular structure formed on a top PCB layer with a ground plane under it. A recent set of white papers released by Signal Processing Group Inc., address this antenna design. The first of these is now accessible from the SPG website by using the “complementary” menu item. It is free for use. The rest of the white papers will be posted in subsequent posts. Interested readers may follow these as and when they are posted. Keep in touch!
